A new game industry survey revealed that over 500 studios around the world are currently working on or maintaining live-service video games like Destiny 2, Suicide Squad, and Fortnite.
Superman: Legacy is set to kick off production next month, and director James Gunn took to Instagram to announce that John Murphy will be the composer for the upcoming DCU movie. The pair have worked together quite a bit, as Murphy composed the scores for The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
“Happy to announce that my frequent collaborator @johnmurphycomposer is scoring #SupermanLegacy,” Gunn wrote on Instagram. “John was one of the first people I called when I finished the script many months ago as I knew how incredibly important the score was to this production. John has been working tirelessly since, creating hours worth of music that we’ll play on set as we shoot & use in the edit & that will eventually be recorded with a glorious symphony for all of you. Welcome to the DCU, John!” In addition to his work with Gunn, Murphy is also known for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, 28 Days Later, Miami Vice, Sunshine, 28 Weeks Later, Kick-Ass, and more.
Superman: Legacy will star David Corenswet (Pearl) as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Ms. Maisel) as Lois Lane. The film will also feature Nathan Fillion (The Rookie) as Guy Gardner, a charismatic and slightly obnoxious member of the Green Lantern Corps; Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class) as Mister Terrific; Anthony Carrigan (Barry) as Metamorpho; María Gabriela de Faría (Deadly Class) as The Engineer, a member of The Authority; Sara Sampaio (At Midnight) as Eve Teschmacher; and Skyler Gisondo (The Righteous Gemstones) as Jimmy Olsen. Nicholas Hoult is also set to appear as Lex Luthor, which Gunn finally confirmed late last year.
Co-chair of DC Studios Peter Safran has teased that Superman: Legacy will not be an origin story and will focus on “Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. Superman represents truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old fashioned.” Superman: Legacy is slated to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.

Lew Temple, whose credits include The Devil’s Rejects, Rob Zombie’s Halloween, 31, The Walking Dead, The Third Saturday in October, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, is set to star in the psychological thriller Self Storage, which is based on writer/director Jay Bonansinga’s 2016 novel of the same name (you can pick up a copy HERE). Professional wrestler Chris Jericho, who had a cameo in Terrifier 2 and will be returning for Terrifier 3, is executive producing the film and will also have a key supporting role in it.
Self Storage tells the story of a heroin-addicted father and his son who accidentally lock themselves inside a self-storage unit. Surviving will depend on a battle with demons both real and manufactured by drug withdrawal. Temple will be playing the lead character, a guy named Johnny Fitzgerald. I’m a big fan of Temple, so I’m glad to see him getting the lead in a project like this.
For more information, we turn to the description of Bonansinga’s novel: Meet Johnny Fitzgerald, a lonely, divorced graphic illustrator with a major heroin habit—the one that cost him his marriage. A last-minute Christmas visit from his six-year-old son, Jacob, is a surprise but Johnny loves spending time with his little boy. They just need to run one errand before the Christmas festivities can begin: Johnny needs to retrieve a document from his unit in a self-storage warehouse on the outskirts of Chicago.
The enormous warehouse is deserted for the holidays, so the two are alone, in Johnny’s storage unit, as he hunts for the document. Suddenly, the roll-up door to the unit slams to the floor, locking them in. They are trapped in the unit, with no hope of rescue in the foreseeable future. They have no supplies or resources. They will battle thirst, hunger, and, for Johnny, perhaps the worst craving of them all—heroin. But this is only the beginning of Johnny’s painful education in de-tox. Because there is something dark and terrifying behind Johnny’s dope-sick hallucinations—something touched off by the place itself. And it’s coming for him and his son.
Variety reports that Jericho’s Babyface Assassin Productions gets an executive producing credit alongside Bonansinga and Jeff Siegel for Delirium Tremens, and Jason Cherubini for Dawn’s Light.

Never give up! Never surrender! Never Surrender, the 2019 documentary about the making of beloved sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest, is headed to Blu-ray later this month. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a Protector case, although Vinegar Syndrome does have a nifty exclusive slipcover.
Here is the synopsis of Never Surrender: A Galaxy Quest Documentary, as per Blu-ray.com: “With beloved cult classic Galaxy Quest reaching its 20th Anniversary, this star-studded documentary unveils how the film turned fans into true heroes and predicted a future where geeks would rule the world! The cast and crew recall how a fire on set, the loss of a powerful director, and an unconvinced studio couldn’t stop the film that would never give up and never surrender!”
Bonus features on Never Surrender: A Galaxy Quest Documentary include: interviews with stars Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver, director Dean Paristo, writer Robert Gordon, and numerous notable fans like Lost creator Damon Lindelof and The Flash’s Greg Berlanti. Also housed on the disc will be b-roll bonus clips and the original trailer.
While Galaxy Quest was a hit with critics and did eventually make back its budget at the box office, the movie has since grown into a genuine cult favorite. While it may not get its own convention, it was honored during its 10th anniversary at the San Diego Comic Con, with fans treated to a live concert of music from the movie. Its indirect con ties are clear, too, as it not only features them in Galaxy Quest but foresaw just how gargantuan – and important to the target fanbase – they would become in the coming years. Let’s put it this way: in 1999, the year Galaxy Quest came out, SDCC had 42,000 people in attendance; on average, it at least triples that annually.
Sequel talk has been on and off for about 25 years now, with word coming last year that Paramount+ would be producing a TV series, which we all know needs to be subtitled The Journey Continues. Tim Allen previously said a sequel was in discussion, teasing, “There is constantly a little flicker of a butane torch that we could reboot it with. Without giving too much away, a member of Alan’s Galaxy Quest family could step in and the idea would still work.”
