The Fantastic Four, John Malkovich

Back in 2009, John Malkovich was set to join the Marvel universe as Vulture in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4. As we know, that project was scrapped, but the actor will be getting a second chance at Marvel fame as Deadline reports that John Malkovich has joined the cast of The Fantastic Four.

Exactly who Malkovich will be playing in The Fantastic Four is being kept under wraps, but he joins a cast which includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic; Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, Julia Garner as the Shalla-Bal version of the Silver Surfer, and Paul Walter Hauser in an undisclosed role.

The Fantastic Four will launch Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to be directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) from a script by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Production is slated to kick off this summer, and Shakman has teased that the movie will be unlike anything we’ve seen from Marvel so far. “It’s different in so many ways,” Shakman said. “I wish I could be specific. I wish I could say more. But we are doing things very differently from a story standpoint, from an approach to the filmmaking standpoint, that really fits the material. I wish I could say more. I would love to, but I can’t. But I think it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen before, and certainly unlike anything at Marvel that you’ve seen before. The Fantastic Four will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.

Malkovich was recently seen starring alongside Ben Mendelsohn, Juliette Binoche, and Maisie Williams in The New Look, an Apple TV+ series which revolves around famed fashion designer Christian Dior in Paris after World War II. He was also seen in Netflix’s Ripley series and has plenty of other projects on the horizon.

Thanks to Netflix‘s upcoming animated series Exploding Kittens, Tom Ellis is trading his horns for a halo by becoming God after playing Lucifer Morningstar in the fan-favorite supernatural drama Lucifer. Netflix parted the heavens on Thursday to reveal an Exploding Kittens trailer, teasing the animated series based on the popular card game Matthew Inman, Elan Lee, and Shane Small created. Netflix’s Exploding Kittens is an adult animated series starring Tom Ellis and Sasheer Zamata as two rotund housecats on opposite ends of a holy war.

In Netflix’s Exploding Kittens trailer, God is transformed into Godcat (Tom Ellis) and cast down to Earth to live with a dysfunctional family while reconnecting with his humanity. Meanwhile, Beelzebub lives next door in the form of a tubby void cat prone to naps in sunbeams and zoomies at ungodly hours.

The Exploding Kittens trailer begins with God getting admonished by his angelic advisors for his lackadaisical attitude toward humanity. Instead of sending him to Earth as a human to reconnect with the species he helped create, he’s transformed into a bearded housecat and forced to live with a frazzled mother managing a household of dysfunctional individuals. Godcat is there to connect with the family and rediscover his humanity. However, what begins as an elaborate life lesson eventually turns into genuinely caring about the humans and wanting to understand their struggle. Unfortunately for Godcat, the Antichrist lives next door, and she’s doing her damndest to get in the way of Godcat’s plan.

Exploding Kittens, trailer, Netflix, animated series

The Exploding Kittens animated series is a companion to the mobile version of the wacky card game, which is exclusively available to Netflix subscribers. A physical version inspired by the show was released last year, and now the animated series is here to fan the flames.

Suzy Nakamura, Mark Proksch, Ally Maki, and Kenny Yates join Tom Ellis and Sasheer Zamata as Godcat’s human companions. The creative team for Exploding Kittens is out of this world, with the game’s co-creator, Matthew Inman, co-showrunning with Shane Kosakowski, a writer and producer on You’re the Worst and The MuppetsKing of the Hill‘s Mike Judge and Greg Daniels executive produce with their Bandera Entertainment partner Dustin Davis. Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping of the Chernin Entertainment Group also serve as executive producers.

I didn’t know what to think when I heard Netflix was getting behind an Exploding Kittens animated series, but now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m a believer! Will you watch Exploding Kittens? Have you played the mobile version of the card game? Let us know in the comments section below.

cheers podcast

The podcast world has taken off in a way that no one thought. Our favorite stars of stage and screen are able to sit down and have candid discussions without flash and utilize their time for lengthy interviews. Enter Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson. According to Deadline, the duo, who were part of an ensemble cast on the Emmy-winning NBC hit comedy Cheers, will be reuniting to catch up with each other and friends for a podcast series called Where Everybody Knows Your Name. The apt title comes from the iconic theme song of the sitcom. The actors who portrayed Sam Malone and Woody Boyd will be premiering the podcast on SiriusXM on June 12.

The show doesn’t explicitly set out to be a Cheers retrospective, but there should no doubt be some reminiscing as the series is about Danson and Harrelson reuniting after years of different career paths and sharing with each other life stories and conversations with friends they made along the way. Danson explained, “Though I’ve always dreaded small talk at a cocktail party, I’ve found that it is a genuine privilege to sit down with someone for a deep, uninterrupted conversation. With this podcast, we’ll do just that. And that I get to do it with Woody, my dear friend of many decades, is the cherry on top of the sundae. Each week, we’ll reflect on our own friendship and careers, and get to the core of the special guests who join us. I can’t wait for you to listen.”

Harrelson would add, “The best part about doing this podcast is that it’s given me an excuse to hang out with Ted. Sure, we’ll talk with interesting guests, and sure we’ll share some laughs along the way, but the biggest win will be rekindling our romance, I mean friendship, after all this time. And I’m glad listeners will be able to join us for that.”

The show comes from SiriusXM and TeamCoco, which is Conan O’Brien’s company, and O’Brien himself is set to be featured on an upcoming episode. Additional guests on the podcast will include Eric Andre, Will Arnett, Kristen Bell, Laura Dern, Jane Fonda, Simu Liu, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman, Martin Short and Mary Steenburgen.
