When news came out that Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia – and then later frontotemporal dementia – it was heartbreaking for fans of the actor. After all, he gave us so many great performances and stands as one of the best movie stars ever. And like always, whenever we hear positive news, we want to share it with our readers, who are just as big of fans as we are.
Appearing on Today (via NBC News), Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer confirmed that “He’s so good. I actually got to see him right before I came out [to New York)]. And [daughter] Lou is just starting to walk a little bit, and she was walking over to him, and it was so sweet.” She added, “It’s so nice because I feel like my dad is just like — he’s a girl dad, through and through. It almost unlocks that kind of little-kid, girl-dad thing. He’s so sweet with her.” Indeed, Bruce Willis is a “girl dad”, fathering five daughters: three with ex-wife Demi Moore and two with current wife Emma Heming Willis.
Rumer Willis has, like so many in the family, been open about Bruces’ condition, providing any necessary updates now that he is out of the public eye. On this, she added, “Our vulnerability and transparency as a family about what he’s going through to me is so important because if it can have any impact on another family that is struggling in any way with something like this, or bring more attention to the disease in hopes of finding a cure or anything that can be of service to anybody else, I think is really important.”
Hopefully we continue to hear more wholesome news about Bruce Willis, who turned 69 in March. Now that he is retired and focusing on his health, anything we hear from his family is welcome, especially if it shows he is staying in good spirits.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, there is a rough estimation of upwards of 60,000 people with various forms of frontotemporal dementia, with the majority in the age range of 45 to 65.
Keep sending your positive vibes for Bruce Willis below.
The Jurassic Park / Jurassic World franchise is continuing – and it’s doing so without any of the leads from the previous movies. The new film in the series is aiming for a July 2, 2025 theatrical release, and when it reaches the screen, it will be introducing us to a new batch of characters. Those played by Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern are out, as are the ones played by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. So far, we’ve heard that the new Jurassic World movie is set to star Mahershala Ali (Green Book), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Rupert Friend (Anatomy of a Scandal), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), and a bunch of hungry dinosaurs. Now Deadline reveals that the cast is being rounded out with the addition of Luna Blaise.
Blaise is best known for playing Olive Stone on 62 episodes of the TV series Manifest. Her other credits include Fresh Off the Boat (where she played Nicole for 23 episodes), Deltopia, Memoria, Vicious Circle, Concrete Kids, We Are Gathered Here Today, and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.
This new Jurassic World movie will have Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One) directing the film from a screenplay by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, who returns to the franchise for the first time since The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Details on the plot have not been revealed, and neither have any character details.
Glen Powell recently mentioned that he had been offered a role in this film, but turned it down because he didn’t feel his presence would add anything to it. That said, “The script’s great. The movie’s going to fucking kill.”
The new Jurassic World movie will be at least partially filmed at Sky Studios Elstree in the UK. Cameras are expected to start rolling sometime next month. As The Hollywood Reporter put it, “it will be hustling like a velociraptor in post-production” to be ready in time for its July 2025 release date.
Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are producing the film for Kennedy/Marshall. Steven Spielberg is executive producing through Amblin Entertainment. Universal’s executive vp of production development Sara Scott and creative executive Jacqueline Garell are overseeing the project for the studio.

Excitement for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is heating up faster than a Helm’s Deep forge, with Tolkien fans eager to return to Middle-earth for more adventures in the beloved fantasy universe. Unfortunately, Nazanin Boniadi, who played Bronwyn, won’t return for new episodes of the Hobbit-inhabited series after briefly stepping away from acting in 2022.
For the uninitiated, Bronwyn is a human healer who gave birth to Theo (Tyroe Muhafidin) and engaged in a forbidden romance with the Silvan elf warrior Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova). Eagle-eyed fans clocked Bronwyn’s absence from The Rings of Power Season 2 teaser and have wondered if the character would return. When she’s not sharing her gifts on camera, Boniadi is a staunch activist, so she briefly left acting to focus her attention on the #WomanLifeFreedom movement in Iran.
“I stepped away from acting in September 2022, to focus solely on the #WomanLifeFreedom uprising in Iran and to advocate for the people of my homeland who have been risking everything for freedom,” Boniadi wrote in an Instagram post. “Despite my passion for acting, I knew it would take a very special project to convince me to once again split my time between my day job and my calling as an activist. A Mosquito in the Ear is that project … a beautiful adventure that we can’t wait to share with you.”
Nicola Rinciari directs A Mosquito in the Ear, an adaptation of Andrea Ferraris’s Italian graphic novel Una Zanzara nell’Orecchio, from a script she wrote with Emily Dillard.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2:
“In season two of The Rings of Power, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on season one’s epic scope and ambition, the new season plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.”
Earlier this week, Amazon revealed Rory Kinnear’s casting as Tom Bombadil for the sophomore season of The Rings of Power. Tom Bombadil appeared in The Fellowship of the Ring novel, helping Frodo Baggins and his friends on their journey. Dressed brightly with a penchant for nature and silly songs, Bombadil is one of the few creatures in Middle-earth that the One Ring has no power over. Described by J.R.R. Tolkien as “older than the old,” his appearance in The Rings of Power, which takes place thousands of years before The Lord of the Rings, fits his character.

Director Fede Álvarez’s contribution to the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus, is set to reach theatres on August 16th (you can watch the teaser HERE), and during a recent interview he said that the film starts off reminiscent of Ridley Scott’s Alien, then gradually becomes more like James Cameron’s Aliens. Now, in an interview with Empire, Álvarez continued talking about the ways Alien: Romulus blends Alien and Aliens, while Empire unveiled a new image from the film, which can be seen at the bottom of this article.
When this project was announced near the start of 2022, it was said that Álvarez pitched the idea to Ridley Scott years ago and it stuck with Scott. So in late 2021, he called Álvarez and asked if he still wanted to make an Alien movie. Clearly, the answer was yes. 20th Century Studios division president Steve Asbell told The Hollywood Reporter that they picked up the project “purely off the strength of Fede’s pitch. It was just a really good story with a bunch of characters you haven’t seen before.“
It has also been said that the story Álvarez and co-writer Rodo Sayagues crafted for Alien: Romulus is not connected to the other films in the Alien franchise – but it’s not ignoring any of the other entries, either. Álvarez has been clear about the fact that his story takes place within the established franchise continuity. In fact, it slots right in between the events of Alien and Aliens. It has the following official logline: The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
Álvarez told Empire, “To ask an Alien fan to choose between [Alien and Aliens] is a perverse question. So I thought, ‘How do I do both?’” So Alien: Romulus will follow slow-build scares like in Alien with a Xenomorph assault like in Aliens, and the blending of the two even extends to the set design. As Empire notes, the galactic Renaissance Station where the story takes place is split into two sections, with the design of the section called Remus being reminiscent of Alien and the design of the more advanced section called Romulus being reminiscent of Aliens. Álvarez says, “There’s a moment where the characters are walking around areas familiar from the Nostromo. Then they cross through that building and on the other side: boom! You’re in a hallway that looks like Hadley’s Hope [from Aliens].“
The film stars Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), David Jonsson (Industry), Isabela Merced (Madame Web), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Spike Fearn (The Batman), and Aileen Wu (Away from Home). Merced has said there’s a scene in the film that’s so disgusting that a lot of viewers will have to look away, so that goes along with the “graphic and gruesome” description. “Graphic and gruesome” is what we expected from this movie as soon as it was announced that it was being made by the director of Evil Dead 2013 and Don’t Breathe.
The new image features Spaeny and Jonsson, and you can find out what Álvarez had to say about Jonsson’s character at the Empire link.
This new Alien movie is coming to us from Momentum and 20th Century Studios, with Ridley Scott producing through his Scott Free banner.

Tony Goldwyn has always been an impressive talent. As an actor, he brings honesty and heart to his work. The same is certainly true with his latest. Ezra not only features Mr. Goldwyn in a supporting role, he takes on the part of director. Ezra tells the story of divorced parents attempting to raise their their son who is on the autism spectrum. Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne are terrific as the parents, and William A. Fitzgerald is equally compelling as Ezra. The film also features Robert DeNiro, Vera Farmiga, Rainn Wilson, and Whoopi Goldberg.
We recently sat down to have a discussion with Tony Goldwyn about the new film. And yes, Mr. Goldwyn was as kind and professional as you can get. During our conversation, he opened up about taking on Tony Spiridakis’ wonderful script. The actor/director discussed casting both Bobby and Rose, as well as finding the right actor to play Ezra – who is on the spectrum. It’s great to see stories like this, and hopefully it will bring a little light on the subject. And maybe even a little understanding from those who have not been impacted by autism.
Ezra is a delightful film that is well worth checking out, and it opens this weekend. Check out our review HERE!

PLOT: In season three, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls. The pressure is on Mike McLusky (Renner) to end the war but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace among all factions.
REVIEW: Twelve months after his near-fatal accident, Jeremy Renner began production on the third season of Mayor of Kingstown. Seeing the Avengers star back on his feet and in character as Mike McLusky is an impressive sight as he slips back into his character’s rumpled suit and takes charge of the various factions, criminal and non, in the Michigan city. Renner is a testament to perseverance. As great as it is to see him on screen again, Mayor of Kingstown continues to plod through lackluster narratives and storylines that fail to be as engaging as any of the other series that bear Taylor Sheridan’s name. Trying to replicate the success of Yellowstone’s blend of soapy drama, sex, and crime, this series remains the weakest of Sheridan’s productions. Mayor of Kingstown adds some new villains to the mix but not much else in this series’s third consecutive subpar run.
At the end of the second season, Mayor of Kingstown saw the death of gangster Milo Sunter (Aiden Gillen) in an explosion and the shooting of Mirian McLusky. While the McLusky matriarch being rushed into the emergency room was filmed to leave a cliffhanger, Dianne Wiest vocally declaring she was leaving the series left little room for suspense. Season three opens with Miriam’s family and friends mourning her passing as her funeral is interrupted by a car bomb. In typical Kingstown fashion, the cops and Mike head out for revenge, setting the overarching narrative for this season in motion. Coming in to replace Milo is Constantine, an even worse Russian gangster who spares no one who may go against his best interests. We also have Aryan prisoner Merle Callahan (Richard Brake) posing a new threat within the prison, adding to the headache for new warden Kareem Moore (Michael Beach).
The first three episodes of Mayor of Kingstown‘s third season were made available for this review, and they do not miss a beat in returning to the tried and true formula that this series has employed since the pilot. Most of each episode features Jeremy Renner in a car, driving from home to the office or to a crime scene, where he meets with detectives Ian Ferguson (Hugh Dillon) and his brother Kyle (Taylor Handley) before making phone calls to resolve the situation. Mike also interacts with Iris (Emma Laird) and Assistant District Attorney Evelyn Foley (Necar Zadegan), with whom he is sleeping with. Mike also meets with drug dealer Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa), who serves as a go-between for McLuskey and the inmates at the prison. These same interactions repeat over each episode with a few twists, like tainted drugs and the arrival of Anna Fletcher (Deadwood’s Paula Malcomson), who may have ulterior motives for meeting with Mike.
While the tenor of the first episodes begins with an aura of vengeance as Mike wants to find out who killed his mother, the series quickly returns to formula, with each episode doing the same thing over and over again. Taylor Sheridan has experience with series focused on criminal culture and spent years acting in Kurt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy, which echoes much of the prison setting of this series. But, something is missing here as there is very little reason to like or care about any of these characters. Some hand-to-hand combat and fiery monologues are nowhere near enough to make this series as interesting as it thinks it is. While Emma Laird was an intriguing presence in the first seasons, she has become background here with the scene-stealing belonging to supporting players like Michael Beach and Richard Brake.
Christoph Schrewe directed the first two episodes of the season, and Nina-Lopez Corrado helmed the third. Dave Erickson, Regina Corrado, and Wendy Riss wrote the scripts, with Hugh Dillon and Taylor Sheridan receiving no credits to open the season. Regina Corrado and Dave Erickson penned episodes in season two, with Erickson sharing credit on the prior season premiere alongside Taylor Sheridan. Still, the fact that neither of the series creators has direct involvement in scripting this season shows. Dillon is involved as an actor, but the drop in quality from season to season echoes Sheridan and Dillon’s reduced roles in the story elements of the series. I cannot tell if the new directors and writers this season indicate a desire to try and reset the series creatively or just normal staff evolution due to last year’s strikes, but it does not help this series in any way.
Mayor of Kingstown has always been the weakest of Taylor Sheridan’s library of shows. As great as Jeremy Renner is capable of being, he is not given the material to elevate Mike McLuskey beyond a two-dimensional creation. While the actors are all good, they are limited by a weak story and not enough to warrant investing in. Mayor of Kingstown continues to be a bleak and depressing mirror version of Yellowstone without the soapy entertainment value that we all tune in for. Instead, this is a series that you could miss an entire batch of episodes and still tune in without missing a beat. What is the point in even watching if characters are not developing or changing? Maybe there is an intriguing series buried underneath, but after three seasons of trying to show it, I am not investing much hope we will ever see it.
The third season of Mayor of Kingstown premieres on June 4th on Paramount+.
