Deadline reports that Quentin Tarantino has teamed with Jay Glennie for two books, which will explore the making of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Inglourious Basterds.
Jay Glennie, who has written books about the making of movies such as The Deer Hunter, Trainspotting, Raging Bull, and more, conducted many hours of interviews with Tarantino about Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Inglourious Basterds. The books will include “unseen personal photographs, behind-the-scenes stories, script drafts, notes, and changes, production and location materials, shooting schedules, and more.” Tarantino will pen the forward for each book.
“I have Jay Glennie’s books in my collection, and I have read and loved them, in particular on the making of The Deer Hunter. I just know that there is no better guy to take a deep dive into my movies,” Tarantino said in a statement. “Myself and my cast and crews have loved reliving our time making Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood and Inglourious Basterds with Jay, and we’re all looking forward to seeing the finished books. This is just the beginning, as I know Jay is as excited as me to explore my other movies.” The dream is for Glennie to ultimately complete a library of Tarantino’s movies.
“I am so honored to be writing about the movies of the greatest director of my generation, Quentin Tarantino,” Glennie said. “I simply cannot wait for Quentin’s millions of fans across the world to read them.“
Little, Brown imprint Voracious VP/Publisher Michael Szczerban added, “We are thrilled to establish this new series of books that dive deep into the filmmaking genius of Quentin Tarantino and share exhilarating behind-the-scenes views of his iconic films. The combination of Jay Glennie with Tarantino makes for a landmark moment in film publishing.“
Tarantino is still deciding on his tenth and final movie. He was set to start production on The Movie Critic, but he scrapped the project earlier this year. It’s still unclear exactly why he ditched the movie, but those close to the director said he “had grown more excited by other ideas.” If the director really does plan on calling it quits after ten movies, I guess he wants to be sure his last is exceptional.
The two Quentin Tarantino books are slated for a fall 2025 publication.
Years of legal battles have taken their toll on Kevin Spacey, who revealed on Piers Morgan Uncensored that he owes “many millions” of dollars in legal fees and that his house has been foreclosed on.
After being asked where he lives, Spacey said, “It’s funny you ask that question because this week, where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on. My house is being sold at auction, so I have to go back to Baltimore and put my things in storage. So the answer to that question is, I’m not sure where I am going to live now. But I’ve been in Baltimore since we started shooting ‘House of Cards‘ there. I moved there in 2012. This [house] has been my home since 2016. I can’t pay the bills that I owe.“
When asked if he is facing bankruptcy, the actor said: “There’s been a couple of times when I thought I was going to file but we’ve managed to dodge it, at least as of today.” In terms of money, Spacey said he has “none,” adding, “You have some sense of legal bills, I still owe a lot… Yes [I am in debt]. It’s considerable. Many millions. The house itself is many millions.“
With claims of inappropriate behaviour and sexual assaults going back decades, Spacey has largely been persona non grata in Hollywood since 2017, but as he was found not guilty in his 2023 U.K. trial, some believe that it’s time to welcome him back. Spacey has found supporters in Liam Neeson, Sharon Stone, and others, but he doesn’t think he’s going to receive widespread support anytime soon. “I don’t think it’s about the industry. I think it’s about our time,” he said in an interview last week. “I think it’s the time we are in. And people are very afraid. They are literally afraid that they’re going to get canceled if they stand up for someone who has been. We’ve seen this many times in history, this is not the first time it’s happened.“
Spacey has also said that he’s spoken with many other people who believe in him and support him, but they’re “afraid to stand up” as they’re afraid “they’re going to get canceled too.“
SPOILER WARNING! In an age where trailers can spoil just about everything a movie has to offer, the marketing campaign for Longlegs has actually been very refreshing. That said, if you’d like to keep the Longlegs mystery alive, particularly when it comes to the character played by Nicolas Cage, I’d recommend opting out of watching this latest teaser.
Since those first few cryptic teasers, we have learned more about Longlegs, but there still feels like so much left to discover. A new short teaser for the upcoming horror thriller has been released, offering a couple of fleeting glimpses of Cage’s creepy serial killer character.
Directed and written by Osgood Perkins (I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House), Longlegs stars Maika Monroe as FBI Agent Lee Harker, “a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.” In addition to Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage, Longlegs also stars Alicia Witt (Urban Legend), Blair Underwood (LA Law), and Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men). The film is said to be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers.“
While speaking with horror icon John Carpenter, Cage has teased that the film is “about a character who’s hearing voices. It’s kind of like a possessed Geppetto, who’s making these dolls…” Cage can always be counted upon to bring his A-game with every performance, but this looks to be something very different, and I can’t wait to see what he will bring to this twisted serial killer.
The first reactions to Longlegs emerged last month and were extremely positive, with some calling it the scariest movie of the year and a contemporary Silence of the Lambs with excellent performances from everyone involved. It sounds like exactly the type of film that is going to get under your skin in the best way—creepy, unsettling, disturbing—just what we need. Longlegs will be released on July 12th.
It wouldn’t be Summer Game Fest and the ghost of E3 season without a big Nintendo Direct. Previously teased for June, it now looks like the big Switch showcase could happen as early as next week thanks to a suspicious early announcement from Among Us maker Innersloth.

Based on Richard Gadd’s autobiographical one-man show of the same name, Netflix’s Baby Reindeer is based on Gadd’s real-life experience of being stalked by a woman named Martha. The series has surpassed expectations to become one of Netflix’s most popular TV shows of all time, taking its place on the streaming service’s Top 10 list.
With a total of 84.5 million views since its release on April 11th, Baby Reindeer is sitting pretty at the #10 spot, which means that it has bumped the first season of The Witcher off the list entirely. Sorry, Geralt. The list tracks how many views a show gets within its first 91 days on Netflix, and as Baby Reindeer still has a month to go before it reaches that limit, it could very well jump up a few positions.
Here’s the full list of Netflix’s Most Popular TV Shows (English):
Wednesday (season 1) – 251.1M views
Stranger Things (season 4) – 140.7M views
DAHMER: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (limited series) -115.6M views
Bridgerton (season 1) – 113.3M views
The Queen’s Gambit (limited series) – 112.8M views
The Night Angel (season 1) – 98.2M views
Fool Me Once (limited series) – 98.2M views
Stranger Things (season 3) – 94.8M views
Bridgerton (season 2) – 93.8M views
Baby Reindeer (limited series) – 84.5M views.
The series has also been making waves for the real-life figures behind the series. Although Richard Gadd had asked fans not to try to identify the real-life people behind the characters, it didn’t take long for interview sleuths to track down Gadd’s alleged stalker, Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey. In an interview with Piers Morgan, the real-life Martha said that the entire Baby Reindeer series is a work of “hyperbole” and “fiction.” She has since moved forward with legal action against Netflix.
Chris Daw KC, a barrister working with Harvey, said that the series also grossly misrepresented her persona and past and has profited from false portrayals. “Portraying someone as a convicted criminal who has done time in prison, when that is not true, is a pretty clear cut case of defamation, as it is bound to cause serious harm to that person’s reputation,” Daw said. “There are strict laws on the use of a person’s image for commercial gain, particularly in the U.S., which do not seem to have been considered.“
