Compared to the Shadow Keep, Shadow of the Erdtree’s Ruins of Rauh can actually feel like a walk in the park. That’s kinda literal, too. It’s all greenery and waterfalls. And oh, look at that, there’s even some pretty butterflies floating around that just so happen to be in the same room as a 20-foot tall…
MGM+ and Prime Video’s live-action Spider-Noir series continues to weave a delicate web of talent as New Girl and Fargo actor Lamorne Morris joins the cast. The Sony Pictures-produced series, starring Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, is one of the most anticipated projects spinning out of the studio’s Spider-Verse, which has had trouble keeping hope alive after the disastrous reception of Madame Web. Lamorne Morris plays Robbie Robertson in Spider-Noir, a determined workhorse and dedicated journalist. As an embattled black professional in 1930s New York, Robertson tackles the stories no one else wants to touch to make ends meet. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep his head above water in a city overrun with mystery and crime.
Spider-Noir comes from executive producers and showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot. The story revolves around Peter Parker, a downtrodden detective navigating the harsh shadows and alleyways of 1930s New York. Throughout the adventure, Peter must reckon with his past while striving to be the only superhero in the Big Apple.
Harry Bradbeer directs and executive produces the first two episodes of Spider-Noir, with the show developed by the team behind Sony’s Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Noir will debut domestically on MGM+‘s linear channel and then globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
Nicolas Cage stars alongside Maika Monroe and Blair Underwood in the Oz Perkins-directed crime thriller Longlegs. The terrifying film joins an FBI agent’s pursuit of a serial killer (Cage), leaving a series of occult clues leading to his wake of murders. Longlegs creeps into theaters on July 12.
Lamorne Morris, known chiefly for his role as Winston Bishop on the Zooey Deschanel-led comedy series New Girl, also plays Deputy Witt Farr in the acclaimed Fargo drama series. Morris plays Garrett Morris in the upcoming SNL 1975, a behind-the-scenes story about the moments leading up to the legendary comedy show’s first broadcast.
Are you excited about Spider-Noir? Are you fascinated by Sony’s choice to present the show in live-action? I’m overwhelmingly stoked for this series, and pray to the ghost of Stan Lee it’s leagues better than Madame Web.
At one point, Saw VI director Kevin Greutert was on board to direct a slasher movie called All My Friends Are Dead… but then Greutert got busy working on Saw X and ended up handing the helm over to Marcus Dunstan – the director of The Collector and The Collection and co-writer of Saw VI (not to mention Saw IV, Saw V, Saw 3D, and the upcoming Saw XI). All My Friends Are Dead, which is now going by the full title #AMFAD:All My Friends Are Dead, went into production a year ago with Dunstan at the helm, and now it’s aiming for an August 2nd theatrical, digital, and VOD release. With that date just three weeks away, a trailer for the film has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.
John Baldecchi is producing#AMFAD:All My Friends Are Dead with Kirk Shaw and Stephanie Rennie, while Dominic Ianno, Sarah Donnelly, Jason Resnick, Suraj Gohill, Dan Rubin, Chris McGurk, Yolanda Macias, and Brad Miska serve as executive producers. Scripted by Josh Sims and Jessica Sarah Flaum, the film will tell the following story: A group of close college friends get a steal on a killer Airbnb for the biggest music festival of the year. A weekend of partying quickly takes a turn for the worse, as the group is murdered one by one. They soon discover that each one of their deaths directly corresponds to one of the seven deadly sins.
The film stars Jade Pettyjohn, Jennifer Ens, Ali Fumiko Whitney, Michaella Russell, Julian Haig, Justin Derickson, Cardi Wong, Jack Doupe-Smith, and Jojo Siwa.
#AMFAD:All My Friends Are Dead was financed by Banc of California and Budding Equity, among others. Cinedigm holds the North American rights. Miska, Managing Director of Bloody Disgusting and Cinedigm, had this to say about the project: “Scream has revitalized the ‘90s slasher and All My Friends Are Dead delivers all the gory fun of those classic films with modern flair. It’s going to deliver all of the gory goods that horror fans expect to see when Marcus Dunstan gets behind the camera.“

David Lynch hasn’t directed a feature film since Inland Empire in 2006, but he has directed many shorts since then, as well as all 18 episodes of Twin Peaks: The Return. A while back, we heard that he’s hoping to make an animated film called Snootworld, which was rejected by the Netflix streaming service… but while we wait to find out whether or not Snootworld is going to find a home, Lynch is working with Chrystabell to send a new music album out into the world. This album is called Cellophane Memories and has a street date of August 2nd. Copies are available to pre-order at THIS LINK.
In a video posted to X at the end of May, Lynch said, “Ladies and gentlemen, something is coming along for you to see and hear. And it will be coming along on June 5.” As it turns out, that “something” was a video for the Cellophane Memories track “Sublime Eternal Love.” Since then, a lyric video has also been released, as well as an animated video for the track “The Answers to the Questions.” These videos can be seen on Lynch’s YouTube channel.
Lynch is who we have to thank for Eraserhead, The Elephant Man, the 1984 version of Dune, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Wild at Heart, Lost Highway, The Straight Story, and Mulholland Drive, among other things. He has been working with The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, The Addams Family, and Welcome to Marwen writer Caroline Thompson on the screenplay for Snootworld, on and off, for a couple of decades. Thompson told Deadline that the story of Snootworld is “wackadoo.” She said, “It takes my breath away how wacky it is. The Snoots are these tiny creatures who have a ritual transition at aged eight at which time they get tinier and they’re sent away for a year so they are protected. The world goes into chaos when the Snoot hero of the story disappears into the carpet and his family can’t find him and he enters a crazy, magnificent world.“ Thompson wrote the first and third acts of the screenplay, while Lynch wrote the second act. Lynch is on board to produce the film if and when it gets rolling, but isn’t sure if he’ll direct it.
Lynch and Chrystabell previously collaborated on the albums This Train (2011) and Somewhere in the Nowhere (2016).
