Judgment Day is upon us – but don’t worry, it’s only happening on Netflix. It has been quite a long time since we’ve gotten a mainstream Terminator series, with The Sarah Connor Chronicles going off the air 15 years ago. But now, Netflix will unveil Terminator Zero, a new animated series, on, appropriately enough, August 29th, better known to franchise fans as Judgment Day.
Less than one month out, Netflix has released the official trailer for Terminator Zero, which has a stacked voice cast and stylistically looks to bring something original to the series while also doing justice to the original James Cameron films and stories. That it is also set to The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Disarm” – with the line “The killer in me is the killer in you” – should play off of some themes as well.
Here is the official plot of Terminator Zero, as per Netflix: “2022: A future war has raged for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity. Caught between the future and this past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who works to launch a new AI system designed to compete with Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by an unrelenting assassin from the future which forever alters the fate of his three children.”
As stated, Netflix has compiled one heck of a cast for Terminator Zero: Timothy Olyphant voices The Terminator; Rosario Dawson is Kokoro, the Japanese answer to Skynet; André Holland is a programmer trying to stop Judgment Day; Sonoya Mizuno plays a resistance fighter; and Ann Dowd is The Prophet, who serves as a guide for the human resistance.
Terminator Zero will have eight episodes, all of which will be available on Netflix on release day.
What do you think of the trailer for Terminator Zero? Do you think it can do justice to the franchise better than some of the previous movies?
Jonathan Majors, who at one time was selected to play Kang, the central villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Thanos, is opening up about Marvel’s recent reveal that Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU to play Dr. Victor Von Doom. Doom essentially replaces Kang as the MCU’s Big Bad for the next several years after the studio pivoted away from Majors following the actor’s two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault.
Speaking with TMZ, Majors said he’s “heartbroken” by the outcome, though he continues to admire RDJ’s incredible talent and creativity. “Yeah, heartbroken. Of course,” Majors commented when TMZ asked if he was upset by Marvel’s decision to retire Kang’s ambitious road map. “I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.”
TMZ quickly points out RDJ’s checkered past compared to Majors’s recent circumstances. Downey was arrested in 1996 for possession of heroin, cocaine, and an unloaded gun and given three years of probation. RDJ’s legal troubles extend beyond the offense mentioned above, though, as we all know, Marvel made its peace with hiring Downey when they cast him as Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man.
“I think it’s fair that Mr. Downey is being and has been greeted with patience and curiosity and love … and [he’s] being allowed to work [his] art and be creative at that level,” Majors said about Downey rising like a mighty phoenix despite his legal record. “I didn’t really get that.”
While Majors is understandably upset by the halt to his Marvel tenure, Hollywood certainly has its share of redemption stories. Majors’s guilty verdict is still fresh in the eyes of the public. It’s possible he could mount a comeback as time ticks.
When asked if he’d still want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kang, Majors said, “Hell yeah! Hell yeah! I love him. I love Kang. If that’s what the fans want, and that’s what Marvel wants, then let’s roll. Hell yeah.”
Are you upset about Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom replacing Jonathan Majors’s Kang as Marvel’s Big Bad? Could Majors ever return to the MCU in some capacity? Let us know in the comments below.
A while back, Arrow Video gave a Blu-ray release to the most popular sequel in the Exorcist franchise, The Exorcist III, in the UK. Now, the company has announced that they’ll be upgrading The Exorcist III with a 4K release on October 7th – and on that same day, they’ll also be releasing a Blu-ray of the least popular film in the franchise, Exorcist II: The Heretic. The Exorcist III can be pre-ordered on 4K at THIS LINK. The Exorcist II: The Heretic Blu-ray is available at THIS LINK, but keep in mind, this is a UK release, so you might need a region free player to watch the Blu-ray in other areas. If you’d prefer to get The Exorcist III on 4K with its original artwork, Arrow Video has you covered at THIS LINK.
Here’s the info on Exorcist II: The Heretic: From John Boorman, the director of Point Blank and Deliverance, comes Exorcist II: The Heretic, a visionary metaphysical thriller that confounded audience expectations by delivering something unique and entirely unexpected. It has been four years since the exorcism that saved the life of Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) and caused the deaths of Lankester Merrin (Max Von Sydow) and Damien Karras, the priests who helped her. Regan remembers nothing, but her therapist Dr Tuskin (Louise Fletcher) believes those memories are simply repressed and waiting. Meanwhile, Father Philip Lamont (Richard Burton) – his own faith shaken by a failed exorcism – is tasked by the Vatican with investigating Father Merrin, who faces posthumous charges of heresy for his controversial writings. His investigation will lead him to Africa, New York and Georgetown as he and Regan are drawn together in a spiritual battle that encircles the globe. With an all-star cast, sublime cinematography, and a standout score from legendary composer Ennio Morricone, Exorcist II: The Heretic is a daring vision, packed with the kind of bold ideas and extraordinary images that Boorman would also explore in Zardoz and Excalibur. Forget what you think you know…

And the info on The Exorcist III: The personal vision of William Peter Blatty (writer of William Friedkin’s original 1973 masterpiece), The Exorcist III is a hellish horror detective story that pairs thoughtful theological themes with scenes of sheer terror. Fifteen years after the events of the first film, Lieutenant Kinderman (George C. Scott, The Changeling) investigates a series of horrific murders that follow the modus operandi of the notorious Gemini Killer… who died several years earlier in the electric chair. After his friend Father Dyer (Ed Flanders) is murdered in his hospital bed, Kinderman’s investigations lead him to ‘Patient X’, a psychopath housed at the same hospital who claims to be the Gemini Killer, and who knows intimate crime scene details. Their encounter leads to a fiery climactic confrontation between the eternal forces of good and evil… The Exorcist III boasts some of modern horror’s most unforgettable scares and exceptional supporting performances from Jason Miller (The Ninth Configuration) and Brad Dourif (Dune). Blatty’s film is presented here in both its original theatrical cut and the Legion director’s cut.

Talk about getting the band back together! After going toe-to-toe with a legion of gun-toting criminals in 2021’s Nobody, Christopher Lloyd will reload his shotgun to star alongside Bob Odenkirk in the highly anticipated sequel, Nobody 2. The veteran actor known for his show-stopping roles in Robert Zemeckis’s Back to the Future trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Addams Family, and more will join Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, and Sharon Stone for the action-packed spy thriller.
Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes for Us, The Big 4, Headshot) helms Nobody 2 based on a screenplay written by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem. Nobody surprised the box office by grossing $57.5 million after spending $16 million on production. Fans of Odenkirk’s bullet-riddled thriller have waited patiently for the sequel to take shape, with all-time high hype to see Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell back on screens.
In Nobody, Bob Odenkirk plays Hutch Mansell, a seemingly mild-mannered former government assassin whose past resurfaces when his family is the target of a home invasion. Christopher Lloyd reprises his role as Hutch’s father, David Mansell, in Nobody 2. In the original, David is a retired badass who spends his days at home watching action movies at an absurd volume. However, when a group of criminals threaten his family, David reveals he’s still packing heat and can handle his business. David’s badassery extends to the film’s entertaining finale, with Lloyd dropping bodies inside a warehouse like a pro.
Plot details for Nobody 2 remain a mystery, though many hope (myself included) that Connie Nielsen’s Becca Mansell gets to mix it up alongside her husband Hutch. At 85 years young, Christopher Lloyd is still kicking ass and taking names in Hollywood with an impressive list of film and television appearances and voiceover work across live-action and animation. He recently voiced Chief Pachacamac for the Knuckles series on Paramount+ and continues to play The Therapist for the animated series Tooned Out. He guest starred in a recent episode of the award-winning series Hacks, playing Larry Arbuckle.
What do you think about Christopher Lloyd returning for Nobody 2? Let us know in the comments section below.

Over one year since the first trailer was released, Witchboard (2024) is releasing to the world, and what better place to premiere than at Fantasia Film Festival? Because not only is this an update to an underrated 80s film, but it’s writer/director Chuck Russell’s return to the genre! After staying away for over 25 years, he’s finally dipping his toes back in. Madison Iseman on the other hand has been final girl many times before and is always a highlight in her various horror projects. So it’s exciting to see them combine forces as a bit of a mixing of the old and new guard.
I hardly ever get nervous for interviews anymore but I have a great deal of respect for both Russell, as well as Iseman, whose career I’ve followed for nearly a decade. And they clearly have a lot of love for Witchboard, wanting to provide a fun and scary film for fans. We get into why Chuck decided this would be his return to the genre, why there’s so much CGI blood, and the scariest scene of the film. While the movie didn’t entirely work for me (check out my review HERE), see it for yourself, and figure out if you want to play with the Witchboard.
WITCHBOARD (2024) plot:
Emily, her fiancé Christian, and a group of their friends are opening a café in New Orleans French Quarter, by refurbishing an old carriage house. But a darkness descends over Emily when she discovers the Witchboard, an ancient Wiccan pendulum board once used to summon spirits. Christen seeks help for Emily from occult expert Alexander Baptiste. But Baptiste has secrets of his own. A modern coven of White Witches, a masked ball at Baptiste’s mansion and the legacy of Naga Soth, the Queen of Witches are all part of a dangerous game that puts Emily’s very soul at risk.
WITCHBOARD (2024) IS CURRENTLY PLAYING FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL. READ OUR REVIEW HERE!
Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures once intended to make a Scream 7 that would have starred Scream (2022) and Scream VI leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon at the helm. But then Ortega allegedly asked for a substantial pay raise – and as we saw when Neve Campbell dropped out of Scream VI due to a pay dispute, these pay issues don’t tend to work out. Then Barrera was fired from the project after comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war didn’t go over well with executives at Spyglass. Landon dropped out the of the project soon after. So Scream 7 has been re-developed, Campbell has signed on to return as franchise heroine Sidney Prescott – and while Sidney only had a supporting role in Scream (2022), Campbell has confirmed that she is the lead character in this reworked version of Scream 7.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Campbell was asked if Sidney will be front and center this time around. She confirmed, “We’re going to follow Sidney.” She went on to say, “I love these movies, they are so much fun to be a part of, I’m so grateful for them, I could never have imagined being a part of a movie that would have lasted this many decades. The fandom is nuts, they are incredible and very passionate about these films. I’m excited to give them a new one!“
Kevin Williamson, who wrote the screenplay for the original Scream, is set to direct this new sequel. In addition to writing the original Scream, Williamson has also written I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Faculty, and Halloween H20 (where his script contributions were uncredited). He wrote the initial drafts of Scream 3 and Scream 4, then those both received some major rewrites. For Scream 7, he’ll be working from a screenplay by 2022’s Scream and Scream VI writer Guy Busick, who crafted the story with his co-writer on the fifth and sixth films, James Vanderbilt. (Vanderbilt is also a producer on the most recent sequels.) Williamson made his directing debut with the 1999 thriller Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Twenty-five years later, Scream 7 will be his second directing credit.
Campbell told Entertainment Tonight that she hasn’t seen a final script yet, but is hoping to receive it this week. Then filming is expected to begin in December.
We’ve heard that executives were hoping to get her Scream 3 co-star Patrick Dempsey to join her in this one, reprising the role of LAPD Detective Mark Kincaid – and while we still don’t have confirmation on whether or not Dempsey will be involved, we do know for sure that Courteney Cox is locked in to return as author and reporter Gale Weathers… which makes sense, because Cox has never missed out on any of these movies. When asked if Dempsey will be involved with Scream 7, Campbell would only say, “Mayhaps.“
Are you looking forward to Scream 7, and are you glad to hear that Sidney Prescott is back in the lead? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
