As a crafting-survival game with a surprising depth, Once Human doesn’t shy away from the basics of the genre, either. You have countless resources necessary for crafting and construction. Various tools are required to harvest specific resources, with upgrades needed for late-game materials.

The 4:30 Movie is the sixteenth feature film from director Kevin Smith, and a while back the movie not only received an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board, but it also secured a distribution deal with Saban Films that will see it reaching theatres sometime this fall (we had previously heard that it would be out this summer, but it apparently shifted back a little bit). Today, Smith took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes look at a movie within the movie, and also revealed that he will be showing the trailer for The 4:30 Movie during his panel at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month!
Smith wrote, “ASTRO BLASTER AND THE BEAVER-MEN is the fake flick all the kids in 1986 wanna see in my new film THE 4:30 MOVIE – coming this fall!. Logic plays the Flash Gordon-ish hero from Earth and Diedrich Bader plays Damocles of the Beaver-Men (akin to Flash Gordon’s Hawk-Men) ! And your first chance to see them on the big screen will be at my Hall H panel on Saturday night at Comic-Con next week, when we premiere the trailer! Anyone in attendance will get a first look at my new movie about sneaking around a New Jersey multiplex in the not-so-weighty 80s! Are you already going to the Marvel Studios presentation in Hall H on Saturday? Then simply stick around to see Silent Bob speak and show you a sneak preview of the new flick! Here’s the official panel description:
Kevin Smith wants to use his mouth on you at Comic-Con! As Clerks celebrates its 30th anniversary, the writer/director and pop culture loudmouth returns to Hall H with an exclusive sneak-peek at his newest flick, The 4:30 Movie! Once he’s done hawking his wares, get ready to have your Q’s elaborately A’d by a guy who loves the sound of his own voice! Attendees can also expect to get some inside dirt on the next Jay & Silent Bob movie, That 90s Show, Smodcastle Cinemas, Secret Stash Press, and Chronic-Con – the inaugural IRL convention this fall devoted to all things Askew!
That’s not all I’m doing in Diego during Comic-Con. I’m also honored to be moderating The Simpsons panel Saturday morning and doing a signing of my book at the Insight Editions booth! ComiCome see me if you’re in San Diego next weekend for SDCC!“
Here’s hoping the trailer will drop online immediately after it’s shown at Comic-Con.
Set in the summer of 1986, The 4:30 Movie is a coming-of-age comedy that follows three sixteen-year-old friends who spend their Saturdays sneaking into movies at the local multiplex. But when one of the guys also invites the girl of his dreams to see the latest comedy, each of the teens will learn something serious about life and love before the credits roll.
Austin Zajur (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), Nicholas Cirillo (Outer Banks), and Reed Northrup (High Maintenance) play the sixteen year old friends, with Siena Agudong (Resident Evil) as the dream girl. Ken Jeong (The Hangover), Sam Richardson (Veep), Genesis Rodriguez (Tusk), Justin Long (Barbarian), Jason Lee (Almost Famous), Rachel Dratch (I Love My Dad), Kate Micucci (The Big Bang Theory), Adam Pally (Sonic the Hedgehog), Harley Quinn Smith (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood), and Method Man (Power Book II: Ghost) are also in the cast.
The 4:30 Movie was filmed at Smodcastle Cinemas in New Jersey, a theatre Smith now co-owns and used to hang out in every weekend when he was a teenager. Liz Destro, Josh Bachove, and Jordan Monsanto produced, with Bill Bromiley, Shanan Becker, and Jonathan Saba executive producing.
Are you looking forward to seeing The 4:30 Movie, and the Astro Blaster and the Beaver-Men clip(s) within? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
Bob Newhart, one of the most beloved stand-up comedians of all time, had passed away at 94. According to THR, he died on Thursday morning, with no cause of death listed. He was 94. Many of you reading this may know him best from his classic role in Elf, where he played Will Ferrell’s adopted North Pole father, but his legendary career went back decades, with Newhart an Emmy, Golden Globe and Grammy Winner. Originally an accountant by trade, Newhart used to pass the time at work by making crank phone calls. Soon, he developed a stand-up comedy act, which became a monster hit, leading to an album, The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart, which became the biggest-selling non-musical album of all time and won him three Grammys in 1961.
From there, Newhart became a popular talk show guest before moving into acting. In the seventies, he had a major hit. The Bob Newhart Show, in which he played a neurotic psychiatrist. In the eighties, he had another hit sitcom, Newhart, where he played an innkeeper in Vermont. The series finale to this sitcom is widely considered one of the best and most unusual ever, with the entire show having been a dream by the character he played on The Bob Newhart Show. He even wakes up in bed beside the woman who played his wife on that show, Suzanne Pleshette. As a child watching it, it blew my mind. More recently, he won an Emmy (his first ever – which is insane) for his recurring guest spot on The Big Bang Theory, where he played Arthur Jeffries in half a dozen episodes. He also had a (different) recurring role on the spin-off, Young Sheldon.
Meanwhile, Newhart also had a decent run on the big screen, co-starring in the classic war satire adaptation Catch-22, voicing one of the titular mice in the Disney Rescuers movies, and co-starring in the comedy In & Out.
Newhart was also famous for being best friends with Don Rickles, the famous curmudgeonly insult comedian, with Judd Apatow recently making a short film about their famous friendship you can watch here. Through it all, Bob Newhart was a once-in-a-lifetime talent and a guy whose appeal spawned generations.

The eyes might be the nipples of the face, but you may want to direct your attention to Anna Faris and her idea to take her House Bunny character, Shelley, in a new direction. Thanks to People, Faris is happy to share her idea for a sequel to 2008’s The House Bunny, in which she played a former Playboy bunny who’s kicked out of the mansion and forced to find a job as a house mother for a sorority full of socially-awkward girls.
Previously, Faris thought Shelley would eventually become a country singer, but now she believes the former Playboy bunny could pursue a career in high-ranking law enforcement. Speaking with People about a possible House Bunny 2, Faris said she’s moved on from thinking about Shelley as a would-be Country singer and says she could become a member of the CIA!
“Then I was thinking, no, she should be a CIA interrogator,” Faris told People. “Her skill is disarming people because she is perceived, and she is, as so open and nonjudgmental. So I was imagining Shelley saying, ‘Oh, what do I do for work? I’m a CIA interrogator.’”
Excited about the idea, Faris added, “Let’s write a script. I would love that.”
Interestingly, Shelley is something of a savant when it comes to remembering people’s names and details of political events. She is often underestimated by others, giving her an edge in infiltration. Shelley is a character that’s near-and-dear to Faris’ heart, and she says the character helped change her outlook on life.
“Fundamentally, career stuff aside, playing a character that had so much compassion and lack of judgment, a character who really led with her heart,” she explained. “It sounds really corny, but I think it made me feel like it was easier to make friends in a weird way.”
“That made me want to lead my life with compliments,” Faris continued. “It felt like kind of a way to combat jealous feelings.”
The world could use many more people like Shelley, don’t you think? Unsurprisingly, The House Bunny is a delightful and heartfelt comedy with fantastic performances from several stars, including Emma Stone, Colin Hanks, Kat Dennings, Christopher McDonald, Katherine McPhee, and Rumer Willis. Much like the launch of a sequel to Reese Witherspoon’s Legally Blonde, I think we all could use House Bunny 2 in our lives.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old man identified as the gunman behind the attempted assassination of former president Donald Trump at a campaign rally last week, doesn’t appear to have posted about the attack ahead of time on Valve’s PC gaming storefront, Steam, after all.
