And while those fights will always prove the game’s biggest challenge, finding so many of these new features is pretty tricky…
One of the buzziest horror movies to come out in quite some time is Longlegs. From Oz Perkins, the director of The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Gretel & Hansel, and more, the film charts a young FBI agent’s obsessive investigation of a satan worshipping serial killer, Longlegs, played by Nicolas Cage (sporting a look you won’t soon forget).
Here at JoBlo, we were huge fans of the movie (read our review), and it was an honour for our man Eric Walkuski to sit down with several of the movie’s stars during their recent New York junket. One of them, of course, was Maika Monroe, who became kind of the “It Girl” of indie horror when she was in The Guest and It Follows, but has since delivered some truly knockout performances in movies like this one and last year’s God is a Bullet. We also spoke to genre vet Alicia Witt (Urban Legend), who has one of the best roles of her career in this one – but it’s best not to delve too deeply into what that role is. We also spoke to the legendary Blair Underwood, who brings some warmth and humanity to the film as Monroe’s FBI mentor, while Oz Perkins (the son of Psycho star Anthony Perkins) opens up about his approach to the film.
Suffice it to say, if you like a slow burn and being challenged by some truly unhinged imagery, Longlegs is the movie for you. It deserves to be the horror breakout of the summer and should be a major indie horror hit.

Netflix has just released the teaser trailer for their upcoming limited series about a mystery that surrounds the impending rich in-laws of a bride-to-be. The Perfect Couple sports an all-star cast for an ensemble show, which includes Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson, Billy Howle, Jack Reynor, Ishaan Khatter, Meghann Fahy, Sam Nivola, Michael Beach, Donna Lynne Champlin, Mia Isaac, with Liev Schreiber and Isabelle Adjani. It’s brought to us by writer and showrunner Jenna Lamia and is based on the book by author Elin Hilderbrand.
The official synopsis reads,
“Amelia Sacks is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season — until a body turns up on the beach. As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect.”
Elin Hilderbrand also serves as an executive producer on the show, along with showrunner Jenna Lamia, as well as Shawn Levy for 21 Laps Entertainment, Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady for The Jackal Group, Nicole Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, Josh Barry. Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus, The Bold Type) will play Merritt Monaco, the Bride’s Best Friend. Ishaan Khattar (Beyond The Clouds, A Suitable Boy) will play Shooter Dival, the Groom’s Best Friend.
