The Madness Colman Domingo

Earlier today, we shared the news that It’s What’s Inside, a horror film executive produced by Fear the Walking Dead cast member Colman Domingo, is set to be released through the Netflix streaming service on October 4th. Now Netflix has announced the premiere date for another of their collaborations with Domingo, a thriller series called The Madness! This one will be coming along just under two months after the release of It’s What’s Inside, as all eight episodes of The Madness will be available to watch on Netflix as of November 28th. That date happens to be Thanksgiving day this year, so a press release notes that “the series will be a perfect binge watch during the long holiday weekend!” Along with the premiere date announcement comes the unveiling of a batch of first look images, which can be seen in this article.

Created by playwright Stephen Belber, who also serves as showrunner alongside executive producer VJ Boyd, The Madness has the following synopsis: In The Madness, media pundit Muncie Daniels (Colman Domingo) must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods. As the walls close in, Muncie strives to reconnect with his estranged family – and his lost ideals – in order to survive.

Domingo is joined in the cast by Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us) as Elena Daniels, Gabrielle Graham (Relax, I’m from the Future) as Kallie, John Ortiz (Fast & Furious) as Franco Quinones, Tamsin Topolski (What You Wish For) as Lucie Snipes, TJ Mixon (Creed III) as Demetrius, and Deon Cole (Black-ish) as Kwesi Dupree.

Other executive producers on the show include Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Kaitlin Dahill, and Clément Virgo. Virgo, director of the 2022 film Brother, also directed the first two episodes of The Madness, as well as the final two episodes. The middle four episodes are directed by Quyen Tran (Roar) and Jessica Lowrey (Heels), who took the helm of two episodes each.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Netflix’s scripted series vice president Peter Friedlander said The Madness is “a fresh take on the conspiracy thriller” that will turn “the genre on its head with its multilayered characters, propulsive action and swift pace.” Topping added, “Stephen Belber and VJ Boyd thrive in creating suspense-driven emotional stories that connect with broad audiences. We look forward to seeing them bring this timely conspiracy thriller to life and to continue our partnership with Netflix.”

Buff your codpiece, keep your lighter away from the Aqua Net hairspray, and prepare yourself for an education in sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll as Paramount+‘s Nöthin’ But a Good Time trailer takes the stage! ’80s hair metal is back, baby, and the new docuseries Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story is here to give you a backstage pass to all the binge-drinking, 3 a.m. orgies, and debauchery!

Featuring never-before-told stories from bands like Poison, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses, Quiet Riot, Skid Row, W.A.S.P., and Great White, the Nöthin’ But a Good Time trailer brings audiences back to an era when studded leather, pyrotechnics, and soaring guitar solos ruled the Billboard charts, paving the way for heavy metal gods to gather worshipers en masse. Based on Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock’s book Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored History of the ’80s Hard Rock Explosion, the three-part series is directed by Jeff Tremaine, who directed Jackass and Motley Crue movie The Dirt.

Nöthin’ But a Good Time , trailer, Paramount+, docuseries

Nöthin’ But a Good Time focuses on bands hailing from L.A.’s Sunset Strip, with surviving members of the era retelling stories about wild nights, unthinkable accidents, and exploding private parts. Bret Michaels, Stephen Pearcy, Nuno Bettencourt, Dave “Snake” Sabo, and Riki Rachtman appear in the series, along with Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor and Steve-O of Jackass fame.

“I’m honored to be part of this docuseries, named after the hit Poison song Nothin’ But A Good Time,” said Bret Michaels. “I’m excited for viewers to take a fresh look at the fans and bands, highs and lows, and to celebrate the music and good times of the ’80s and beyond. I hope the audience enjoys it as much as I did, and I can’t wait for them to have insight into some of those notoriously crazy moments.”

Who’s ready to throw up their horns for this rowdy and raunchy docuseries? Paramount’s Nöthin’ But a Good Time trailer takes me back to a time when my sister would blast Appetite for Destruction and Hysteria from her bedroom, eventually gifting me her cassette collection made up of bands like Guns N’ Roses, Cinderella, Aerosmith, Poison, Dokken, Skid Row, Def Leppard, Damn Yankees, Slaughter, and more.

What Do We Know About the third season of House of the Dragon? More thank you may think. The Game of Thrones prequel has been one of HBO’s biggest hits and already has a finite end date coming with the fourth season. With details already revealed regarding the penultimate season, we know a lot of what is to come. So, let’s jump in and discuss

The next season will feature the Battle of the Gullet.

Game of Thrones boasted some iconic and large-scale battle sequences that helped define the series. For House of the Dragon, that will be the Battle of the Gullet. Ryan Condal has stated that The Gullet is the second most anticipated action event from George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood and that it will be the biggest event to date for the series.

New characters are coming.

Several notable characters have yet to make their debut in the prequel series, notably Daeron Targaryen. In the book, Daeron is Alicent and the late King Viserys’ fourth child, who would be around sixteen years old as of the series’s second season. In the episode “Smallfolk”, he was explained away as having been sent to Oldtown, the same place as Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans). Daeron will play a key role in the power struggle between the warring factions and will be the biggest addition to the third season.

Lots of characters are going to die.

If you have read Fire & Blood, you know the vast majority of the characters we have come to love and hate over the past two seasons will be dead before the series concludes. This includes some of the top-billed members of the cast. I won’t specify whose deaths loom large in the next season, but if you want to know, you can go ahead and Google the spoilers. Rest assured that these characters will mostly go out in epic fashion and could potentially have different fates on screen than on the page, as Ryan Condal did tweak the way some deaths occurred in season two.

The plot may deviate from the source material.

Tom Glynn-Carney, who plays Aegon II, has been quoted as telling Esquire that the George R.R. Martin book Fire & Blood serves as the bible for the overall timeline of House of the Dragon but that things have been tweaked along the way. Because the series has already excised characters from the entire story (like Mushroom), some surprises could come our way in the next two seasons.

Rhaenyra will likely take the Iron Throne.

Because the battle between the Green and Black factions of the Westerosi civil war does not end with Rhaenyra finally getting the crown she has been fighting for, her ascension is definitely going to occur in the third season. A lot happens in Fire & Blood after Rhaenyra becomes the true queen, who will serve as the bulk of the fourth season, so it may occur before the finale of the show’s next season. However, with the timeline being compressed and shifted, it could also be the last moment of the third season, leading into a brutal and conclusive fourth season.

Season Three will likely arrive in 2026.

The scope and scale of House of the Dragon require a lot of time in terms of pre-production and post-production. The visual effects alone are a massive undertaking, which is why there was a gap of two years between the first two seasons. With that in mind, showrunner Ryan Condal has stated that production on the third season will begin in 2025, which means we will not see the third season until sometime the following year.
