Unreal Engine is so good at making games look hyper realistic that it’s become a meme for a certain style of uncanny fan video showing everything from The Legend of Zelda to The Simpsons remade with ultra detailed CGI effects. Well, now Halo’s Master Chief is getting that treatment for real, and the initial tease…
Sarah Michelle Gellar may not be coming back for the new sequel to the slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it HERE) and the follow-up I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (watch that one HERE) that’s coming our way from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) – since her character is dead and all – but The Rocketeer is going to be in the movie! Deadline reports that The Rocketeer star Billy Campbell, whose credits also include Cardinal, Enough, and Bram Stoker’s Dracula, has signed on to join the cast.
Campbell’s co-stars will include Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Sarah Pidgeon (Tiny Beautiful Things), Tyriq Withers (Atlanta), and Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid). Robinson’s Do Revenge star Camila Mendes (Riverdale) was previously attached, but had to drop out due to scheduling issues. It appears that she has been replaced by Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies Bodies Bodies). I Know What You Did Last Summer and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer cast member Freddie Prinze Jr. recently signed on to reprise the role of Ray Bronson, while Jennifer Love Hewitt (who played heroine Julie James in the first two films) is still in negotiations to appear in the film.
Robinson will be directing the film from a screenplay by Leah McKendrick (M.F.A.), which has received some rewrites from Robinson and journalist Sam Lansky. McKendrick told Collider a while back that the new sequel will reckon with “some big ideas about hero and villain, right and wrong, how your skeletons come back to haunt you. And in the age of the internet and the age where fame is such a revered concept, the creation of TikTok and social media, who is Julie James in a world where there are no secrets anymore?“ McKendrick also said that when she went in to pitch her take to Sony, the most important things they wanted to hear about were “the accident, the event that kicks it off, and who the killer is.“
I Know What You Did Last Summer was directed by Jim Gillespie from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson that was inspired by a Lois Duncan novel. The film has the following synopsis: A year after running over a fisherman and dumping his body in the water, four friends reconvene when Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) receives a frightening letter telling her that their crime was seen. While pursuing who he thinks is responsible for the letter, Barry (Ryan Phillippe) is run over by a man with a meat hook. The bloodletting only increases from there, as the killer with the hook continues to stalk Julie, Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.).
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer was directed by Danny Cannon from a screenplay by Trey Callaway. The synopsis: A year after killing vengeful hit-and-run victim Ben Wills (Muse Watson), who gutted her friends with an iron hook, college student Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is still shaken by the experience. When her roommate, Karla (Brandy), wins a vacation for four to the Bahamas, she plans to bring along her boyfriend, Tyrell (Mekhi Phifer), attractive Will (Matthew Settle) and Julie. At the resort, Julie starts receiving threatening notes and realizes Ben is still alive.

Sam Raimi, the director of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, returned to the superhero world to direct the Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after the first movie’s director, Scott Derrickson, dropped out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe project over creative disagreements. Ever since the release of that movie, Raimi’s name has come up in rumors for more superhero movies, whether it be Avengers sequels or another Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie… and while those haven’t panned out, here’s one that might: industry scooper Jeff Sneider reports on his website The InSneider that Raimi is nearing a deal to direct Doctor Strange 3 for Marvel.
Sneider wrote, “I’m told that Raimi is definitely coming back, which is no surprise as he really seemed to enjoy working with Marvel, as opposed to other filmmakers who have struggled to adapt to the studio’s process.“
As we reported earlier today, Raimi is planning to direct a horror thriller called Send Help next, and Doctor Strange and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cast member Rachel McAdams is in talks to star in the film. According to Sneider, production on Send Help “is gearing up to start in January before Raimi and McAdams return to the MCU for Doctor Strange 3.”
Scripted by Loki head writer Michael Waldron, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – read our review HERE, check out a list of Easter eggs HERE – has the following synopsis: In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
The Doctor Strange movies star Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character, while McAdams takes on the role of surgeon Christine Palmer, Strange’s former girlfriend.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ended with two developments that will need to be addressed in future Doctor Strange stories: one scene showed Strange gaining a third eye, and another showed Strange joining sorceress Clea (played by Charlize Theron) on an adventure into the Dark Dimension to repair an “incursion” he was responsible for. We’ll have to wait and see if these things come up in Avengers: Doomsday (coming in 2026) and/or Avengers: Secret Wars (coming in 2027), or if they’ll be left for Doctor Strange 3.

Metaphor: ReFantazio may be one of the most stylish-looking games ever made, even more so than Persona 5, the incredibly flashy Atlus RPG that preceded it. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it turns out the menus that play a huge role in establishing the visual identities of these games are very hard to make.

Two great Hollywood flavors that taste great together, Will Smith and Michael Bay, could return to the genre that inspires audiences to grip the armrests of their theater chairs for the upcoming action film Fast and Loose. According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, the duo who launched the Bad Boys franchise hopes to strike a deal with Netflix for their next collaborative project. Michael Bay is in the final negotiations to direct Fast and Loose for Netflix, which could be Smith’s next move after exiting the thriller Sugar Bandits.
Fast and Loose, written by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson, “follows a man who wakes up in Tijuana with no memories. As he pieces together his past, he learns he’s been living two lives: one as a crime kingpin and the other as an undercover CIA agent.”
Smith has been developing Fast and Loose for a while, thanks to an adrenaline shot of momentum after the latest film in the Bad Boys series, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, grossed $400 million at the worldwide box office. After showing he’s ready to return to the spotlight, Smith aims to hit Hollywood with cinematic bangers for audiences to enjoy. While the deal remains in flux, Netflix is keen to reunite Smith and Bay for obvious reasons.
While Smith is busy behind the scenes as a producer of various projects, Bad Boys: Ride or Die lit a fire under action fans craving the chemistry of Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). In the sequel, Lowrey and Burnett’s late police captain gets linked to drug cartels. To clear his name, a wisecracking Miami cop duo embarks on a dangerous mission to clear his name.
Bay and Smith’s working relationship goes back to 1995’s Bad Boys, an action rampage that helped make them household names. The duo teamed up again in 2003 for Bad Boys II, which banked$273M+ worldwide. After directing 2019’s 6 Underground and the 2022 thriller Ambulance, Michael Bay is two movies deep at Netflix. Fast and Loose could be the filmmaker’s most significant movie at the streamer, especially with Smith attached to lead the charge.
When Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova debuted in 2021’s Black Widow, fans immediately took to the character’s snappy dialogue, thirst for violence, and inability to relinquish her vendetta against the people who broke up her found family. Pugh’s performance quickly established Yelena as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s more exciting new characters in a post-Endgame era, which makes you wonder: Would the character have had the same impact if played by someone else? Saoirse Ronan, perhaps? While speaking with the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Ronan more or less confirmed Marvel offered her the role of Yelena Belova before her Little Women co-star, Pugh, superhero-landed in the MCU.
“How did you hear about that?” Ronan asked the Happy Sad Confused host, Josh Horowitz. To which he replied, “OK. I’ll take that that non-answer as an answer.” Horowitz then asked Ronan if she had anything “against the Marvel stuff.”
Ronan, careful not to invite MCU fans into the comments to roast her response, said, “I can’t see myself doing Marvel.” Adding, “I don’t… No, I would prefer to do Bond.” Not wanting to stoke flames, Ronan continued, “There’s nothing wrong with [Marvel] and I think they’re brilliant films. I want to do more big movies. I’m at the point where I’ve done… I love making independent film, I really do, but to know — especially in this landscape that we’re in, in film right now — to know that a film is going to be seen is such a luxury.”
Saoirse Ronan has come a long way from appearing in films like Atonement, City of Ember, and The Lovely Bones. It may bestarring role in 2011’s Hanna makes her a perfect fit for a character as calculated, surprisingly vulnerable, and badass as Yelena Belova. While Ronan typically sticks to indie fare like Lady Bird, Ammonite, and Nora Fingscheidt’s The Outrun, filmmakers are likely to line up when they hear Ronan wants a chance to step into Hollywood’s big-budget spotlight.
Would Saoirse Ronan have made a good Yelena Belova? Should whoever makes the next Bond movie give her a call? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
