Dear Konami, what will it take to get a proper reboot of the Castlevania video game franchise? After years of Netflix delivering high-quality animation projects for the legendary franchise, it’s time for you to step up your game. I am a lifelong fan who wants you restored to your former glory. If you need inspiration or want to know what fans like, gaze upon the might of Netflix’s Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 trailer, previewing the next exciting chapter of an animated series that has yet to miss the mark.
“Now joined by the legendary Alucard, Richter Belmont and his band of vampire hunters are in a desperate race against time,” says the official logline for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2. “Erzsebet Báthory, the Vampire Messiah, who already seems invincible, seeks the full power of the goddess Sekhmet so she can plunge the world into endless darkness and terror.”
For more plot details about Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, read Netflix‘s official description below:
“France, 1792 – the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to ‘eat the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and nightcreatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.”
In Netflix’s Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 trailer, all light has been drained from the sky, bringing hope and despair to those willing to fight the forces of evil and restore order to a world overtaken by chaos. The only solution to end the threat of eternal darkness is for Alucard, Simon Belmont, and others in their eclectic group of vampire hunters to join forces against things that go bump in the night. The Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 trailer gives fans a taste of the bloody action to come as monsters and magic taint a world infected with mystery.
Are you excited for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 on Netflix? Do you wish Konami would get its act together and introduce a new game in the franchise? We recently got some classic Castlevania video game collections, but I want a brand-new adventure! I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Singer/songwriter Halsey had a role in director Ti West’s horror film MaXXXine (which wrapped up the trilogy that West started with the slasher X and continued with the prequel Pearl), and now Variety reports that West and Halsey are teaming up again for Bloodlust, a dark comedy series that’s set up at the Prime Video streaming service. Halsey will serve as the creator, writer, and executive producer on the show, while West is on board as director and executive producer.
Halsey previous wrote If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, an hour-long fantasy horror “film experience” that was set to the music of the album of the same name.
Details on the plot of Bloodlust have not been revealed. In addition to Halsey and West, the series is being executive produced by Anthony Li, who is Halsey’s manager, and Mark Friedman, who is also the showrunner. Friedman’s previous television credits include Wayward Pines, Severance, and Dune: Prophecy.
Variety notes that “the project has been in development at Amazon for some time with Halsey, Li, and Friedman attached, but no details had emerged until now.” And even now, we don’t know much, other than it’s a dark comedy and West will be directing it.
In addition to the X / Pearl / MaXXXine trilogy, West has directed The Roost, Trigger Man, The House of the Devil, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, The Innkeepers, The Sacrament, In a Valley of Violence, segments of the anthologies V/H/S/ and The ABCs of Death, and episodes of Scream: The TV Series, South of Hell, Wayward Pines, Outcast, The Exorcist, The Passage, Chambers, The Resident, Soundtrack, Tales from the Loop, and Them. Halsey has released five studio albums over the last nine years: Badlands, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, Manic; If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power; and The Great Impersonator. Her first number one song as a lead artist was “Without Me.”
Are you a fan of the works of Ti West and/or Halsey, and are you looking forward to seeing what they’re going to do with the Prime Video dark comedy series Bloodlust? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

When he’s not directing episodes of Severance or learning how to be a parent to estranged nephews in the David Gordon Green-directed holiday comedy Nutcrackers, Ben Stiller likes to map out his next move, which could take him back to the Circle of Trust for a new Meet the Parents movie. According to Deadline, Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner are in early talks for a new film in the Meet the Parents franchise.
John Hamburg, who wrote all three Parents films, including Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Little Fockers, returns to write the screenplay. Sources say no director is attached, but the studio is on the hunt. Jane Rosenthal and De Niro produce through Tribeca Productions alongside Jay Roach. Roach directed the first two films in the franchise and helped produce all three in the trilogy via Delirious Media. Ben Stiller and John Lesher will produce courtesy of Red Hour Films.
Meet the Parents came to theaters in 2000 when awkward slapstick romance comedies were still a thing. Stiller plays a male nurse from Chicago named Greg Focker. He’s a chronic under-achiever who finds himself the target of Jack, his girlfriend Pam Byrnes’ (Teri Polo) former CIA agent father. Jack is determined to out Greg as unworthy of his daughter’s affection, but Greg’s not about to give up so easily. The two families come together through outrageous mishaps to form a dysfunctional unit.
Hamburg and Stiller have worked together on Stiller’s 2004 romantic comedy Along Came Polly, starring Jennifer Aniston, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Debra Messing, Hank Azaria, and Alec Baldwin. Hamburg was also the co-writer of Stiller’s cult comedy classic Zoolander, which lives on in the hearts and minds of people with taste. Who’s up for a gasoline fight? Amazing.
Does a new Meet the Parents movie sound like comedy gold? Does the gang still have what it takes to revive the awkward family comedy? Are Greg and Pam now grandparents after so much time has passed? I have many questions that will hopefully be answered when more details about the plot for another film in the Meet the Parents franchise emerge from the Circle of Trust.

All good things must come to an end, unless it’s the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then, you just throw the actor into the multiverse, and out comes a new beginning. In an unsurprising surprise move by Marvel, The Wrap exclusively reports that Chris Evans is set to make his formal return to the MCU.
