Valve’s handheld device, the Steam Deck, wasn’t the first portable gaming PC ever created, but it is by the far the most successful. And like Steam becoming the de facto way people play PC games in 2025, SteamOS will soon be the most popular way to play PC titles on the go, which is not great for Microsoft.

After casting a spell on audiences and racking up award nominations, the anticipation for Wicked: For Good, the sequel to Jon M. Chu’s Wicked, is through the roof. The second final part of Elphaba’s story doesn’t land like a house in theaters until November 15, 2025. Still, Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), who plays the charming Prince Fiyero in the musical adaptation, is already drumming up excitement for the event of the holiday season. Speaking with IndieWire about WIcked: For Good, Jonathan Bailey said he thinks he’s beginning to understand the world inspired by Gregory Maguire’s novel, and there are moments he can’t wait to share with audiences.
“I think we understand the world and how it works [now],” he told the entertainment outlet. “I’m really excited for the tonal shift. The world gets heavier and more complicated and there’s just that pumping sense of hope and joy and resilience and all the things that we love about Elphaba’s journey that I can’t wait for.”
As IndieWire points out, Wicked: For Good finds Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) as a targeted political figure after vexing the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum). Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana Grande) falls under the spell of becoming a sounding board for influential figures throughout Oz.
During his chin-wag with IndieWire, Jonathan Bailey also expressed excitement about seeing the film in theaters with family members and realizing that all his years of dance and theater training were worth the blood, sweat, and tears.
“Going to see ‘Wicked’ with friends and family and my Nana the day after it came out here, it’s just really struck me that it is all about local community projects,” Bailey said, referring to his childhood, which had been chock full of acting and dance classes. “There’s so many moments in your life where you can be inspired by art and passions can be awakened, but the biggest travesty is to allow them to remain dormant when you know they’re there. And so I’m always grateful for Fiyero and ‘Wicked’ because it really has brought my dancing back in [to my life], which is amazing.”
Wicked is still playing in theaters and is available for Digital purchase on various platforms. Are you excited for Wicked: For Good? What did you think about Wicked? Let us know in the comments section below.
Shortly after going public about his engagement to Zendaya, Tom Holland is ready to suit up for the Grisham-Verse with a starring role in The Partner, based on the suspense thriller novel by John Grisham. The script for the adaptation of Grisham’s 1997 bestseller hails from The Imitation Game writer Graham Moore. Universal is the studio.
The Partner revolves around Patrick Lanigan, a young partner in a Biloxi law firm who fakes his own death after stealing $90M from a crooked client. To disappear without a trace, Patrick leaves his wife, newborn daughter, and secrets behind. After Patrick builds a new life in South America, the scorned client discovers the money is missing from his offshore accounts. Convinced Patrick stole it and is still alive, the client vows to hunt him down. Left with no choice but to confess, Patrick must face the FBI, his wife, and his child while confronting harsh truths.
Hollywood is well-versed in bringing Grisham’s novels to life on the silver screen thanks to films like A Time to Kill, starring Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, and Sam Jackson; The Firm, starring Tom Cruise, The Pelican Brief, starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington, Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon’s The Client, and The Runaway Jury, starring John Cusack, Gene Hackman, and Rachel Weisz. General audiences adore the rush of a solid Grisham page-turner, which helps bring them to screens with some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters.
In addition to The Partner, Tom Holland joins Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong’o in Christopher Nolan’s next epic, The Odyssey. Nolan’s adaptation of the classic story follows Odysseus on his perilous journey home after the Trojan War, showcasing his encounters with Polyphemus, the Sirens, and Circe and finishing with his reunion with his wife, Penelope.
What do you think about Tom Holland signing on for an adaptation of John Grisham’s The Partner? Are you stoked to hear about Holland’s engagement to Zendaya? We’ll bring you more news about The Partner as the project’s development continues.

The sci-fi thriller Companion is coming our way from writer/director Drew Hancock and the team behind the 2022 horror hit Barbarian, but even though more than a year has passed since the project assembled its cast and went into production, we have known very little about it… until today. It has managed to stay shrouded in secrecy all this time, but now a trailer has dropped online that reveals what’s actually going on in the movie – and I can see why star Jack Quaid (Scream 2022) has advised potential viewers to avoid the trailer. But if you want to know what Companion is about, go ahead and take a look at the trailer embedded above.
There’s an official synopsis that doesn’t give away anything about the characters or what they’re up to: New Line Cinema—the studio that brought you The Notebook—and the unhinged creators of Barbarian cordially invite you to experience a new kind of love story…

New Line Cinema went all-in on a partnership with Barbarian (watch it HERE) writer/director Zach Cregger and the film’s producers at BoulderLight Pictures. New Line came out the winner in a bidding war over Cregger’s next film, a mysterious horror project called Weapons. They signed a first look deal with BoulderLight Pictures, tasking the company with developing high concept genre projects for them. And they gave the greenlight to Companion, which is being produced by BoulderLight and Cregger.
Hancock wrote the screenplay for Companion, and Cregger was so impressed by it that he considered making the film his directorial follow-up to Barbarian. Instead, Hancock makes his feature directorial debut with Companion while Cregger focuses on Weapons. In addition to Quaid, the cast of Companion includes Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), Lukas Gage (You), Megan Suri (Never Have I Ever), Rupert Friend (Asteroid City), and Sophie Thatcher (The Boogeyman). The Hollywood Reporter was able to dig up the fact that Thatcher’s character is “more than meets the eye,” as shown in the trailer. They also heard that Friend’s character doesn’t live up to the actor’s last name.
Details on the plot are being kept completely under wraps, but The Hollywood Reporter heard that the makers of Companion are describing it as being “self-contained”. Hancock’s previous writing credits include episodes of Supah Ninjas, Blue Mountain State, Fred: The Show, Suburgatory, Faking It, Mr. Pickles, and My Dead Ex (which he co-created), as well as the movie Fred 3: Camp Fred. While he has never directed a movie before, he has directed episodes of Acceptable TV and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as well as a Tenacious D music video.
Cregger is producing Companion with Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz of BoulderLight Pictures, as well as Roy Lee of Vertigo. BoulderLight’s Tracy Rosenblum and Vertigo’s Andrew Childs serve as executive producers.
The Motion Picture Association ratings board has given Companion an R rating for strong violence, sexual content, and language throughout. The film is set to reach theatres on January 31, 2025.

As the onslaught of Switch 2 leaks continues, and most especially the very convincing appearance of what are likely to be the new console’s Joy-Cons, a weird sense hit me: I’m a bit disappointed. I love the Switch, I think it’s a wonderful piece of tech, and I would really love to have an upgraded version of it that’s…
