The Supreme Court of Korea has ruled that a South Korean man must serve one year and six months in prison after he refused the country’s mandatory military service. He had argued he was a conscientious objector, but a lower court dismissed this partially because he loves playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced Thanos (Josh Brolin) at the very end of The Avengers, and little by little, the Mad Titan’s grand plan was revealed as the Marvel heroes united to stop him, with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) finally snapping him and his armies into dust at the end of Avengers: Endgame. For many, Thanos remains the best MCU villain, so it’s only natural that the character could return to the franchise.
While speaking with ComicBook.com, Josh Brolin teased that he’s heard Thanos could be returning to the MCU. “You know, I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they’re gonna bring him back,” Brolin said. “And there’s the What If…? series and that’s a different kind of Thanos and all that. But I don’t know in the Marvel world whether they’re going to bring him back, but I didn’t know that he was the most killed-off Marvel villain… You learn something new every day.“
Following his death in Avengers: Endgame, Thanos did pop up in several episodes of What If…? with Brolin voicing the character, as well as making a brief appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As for which Marvel project could feature the return of Thanos, it’s too early to say, but I could certainly imagine him showing up in Avengers 5 (formerly Avengers: The Kang Dynasty) and/or Avengers: Secret Wars.
Josh Brolin will next be seen reprising his role of Gurney Halleck in Dune: Part Two. The much-anticipated sequel will “explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.” The film will hit theaters on March 1st, but audiences will get a sneak peek with the upcoming re-release of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.
What do you think? Would you like to see Josh Brolin return as Thanos or should Marvel put the character to rest?
Nearly two years have gone by since we heard that production had wrapped on Cuckoo, a new horror film from writer/director Tilman Singer that stars Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), Dan Stevens (The Guest), Jessica Henwick (Love and Monsters), Marton Csókás (Freelance), Greta Fernández (Santo), and Jan Bluthardt (Tatort). Now we finally know when the movie is going to be making its way out into the world: Neon has announced that they’ll be giving Cuckoo a theatrical release on May 3rd.
At one point, it was announced that Gemma Chan (Eternals), Sofia Boutella (The Mummy 2017), Zita Hanrot (Love, Death & Robots), Proschat Madani (Walking on Sunshine), and John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich) would be in the movie as well, but it looks like most of them had to drop out of the project before filming began.
Details on Cuckoo are being kept under wraps. This is the second feature for Singer, following the 2018 supernatural horror filmLuz, which Bluthardt had a role in. Luz told the story of “a young cab driver fleeing from the grasp of a possessed woman, whose confession could endanger the lives of everyone who crosses her path.”
Several of Singer’s Luz collaborators joined him on Cuckoo. In addition to Bluthardt, also returning from Luz were cinematographer Paul Faltz, composer Simon Waskow, and production designer Dario Mendez Acosta.
Cuckoo was financed by Neon. The film is being produced by Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Maria Tsigka, Ken Kao, Thor Bradwell, Ben Rimmer, in a cooperation between Germany’s Fiction Park and the States’ Waypoint Entertainment. It’s executive produced by Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutchman, Emily Thomas, and Ryan Friscia for Neon. Additional funding came from the Film und Medien Stiftung NRW, HessenFilm, and the German Federal Film Fund.
A first look image showing Schafer’s character can be seen at the bottom of this article.

I’m interested because of the cast (I haven’t seen Luz yet), but I’m also hoping we’ll have more information to go on soon.

Can Hawkeye get the Avengers to assemble again? Jeremy Renner – who first entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011 – would absolutely get the superheroes back together if the opportunity came up. But it’s just not because he loves making the movies; it’s because of his co-stars’ loyalty.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Jeremy Renner said you don’t have to expect his Marvel days to be over. “I’m always game. I’m gonna be strong enough, that’s for sure. I’ll be ready. All those guys come to my bedside and they’ve been with me all along through this recovery, so…if they want me, they could have me. It would be something.” A number of Renner’s Marvel co-stars showed their unrelenting support in the aftermath, with the likes of Chris Evans, Scarlett Johannson and Anthony Mackie visiting him in the hospital after his January 1st, 2023 accident which left him with 30 broken bones and blunt chest trauma.
Jeremy Renner’s recovery has been well-documented, with the actor showing the sort of resilience, determination and willpower that fits the mold of Marvel heroes. At this point, Renner says he is doing 90% of what he should be, adding he is focused on constant rehabilitation, “It’s a one-way street, this recovery. The rest of my life is about health and wellness. Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I look forward to it, man. There’s always something to do to get better, be stronger, be happier, be healthier, and that’s what I look forward to.”
While Renner is on board to rejoin the Avengers for more Marvel outings – and there were some rumblings of bringing them back following the Jonathan Majors fallout – fellow co-stars have either expressed skepticism (Johannson) or have been left in the dark (Evans). And then there’s Robert Downey Jr., who Kevin Feige says won’t be returning as Tony Stark. But perhaps if Hawkeye steps up, it might push them in the desired direction?
Would you want Jeremy Renner to get the Avengers back together for another Marvel outing? Or should he concentrate on other projects? Give us your thoughts below!
